Horizon provides Information Technology services to companies that use Oracle products. These include project Management and Development, Oracle ERP Solution Architect consultancy, ERP Assessment, Oracle Project Accounting Solution Design consultancy, and Oracle Fixed Assets Solution Design and Architecture consultancy. Horizon Projects has worked with major governmental and Fortune 500 organizations such as The City of Oakland, Huawei, Marsh & McLennan and Southern Power.

The Case

Horizon Projects Consulting had long been a valued client of Slide Sigma, where we worked on PowerPoint presentations that were often used in Board of Director meetings and shared with the teams used in implementing Horizon’s Oracle consultancy services. The consultancy services industry, and especially one that primarily focuses on working with large-scale corporations who use Oracle, needed a website that reflects their knowledge and the industry they serve. We met with the company’s founder, Lawson James, and worked with him to come up with a vision for a new site that was informative, solid, and served the main purpose of attracting new clients for Horizon.

Oftentimes, I have to give presentations to large groups of people of various levels. What Slidesigma is able to do for me is create these presentations. I describe for them what I’m looking to include in the presentation and I’ll give them rough cuts. They’re able to look at what I provide them, whether it’s hand-drawn or in Word, or through a description that I provide them through an interview. Then they are able to transform that into a really effective presentation.

I’ve been working with Slidesigma throughout 2015 and 2016. I’ve engaged them in at least six major presentations. My last project with them is completed, but I’ve queued them up to do another project for me.

The Solution

Project Management, consultancy and software solutions meant stability, trust and integrity and we decided to reflect these strengths through the new website’s aesthetics. We decided to use dark blue accents that reflect honesty, trust, and dependability and compliment it with brilliant gold, brown, and silver hues that reflect value, wisdom, and luxury. Lawson, who is the founder of Horizon Projects wanted to expand the company’s digital reach and develop an online identity and presence. What resulted is a 508-Compliant website that met every one of the client’s expectations. We emphasized Horizon’s consultancy services but also made sure to highlight the company’s other primary services as well. Next, we generated an SEO and site ranking strategy and within a couple of months, Horizon project Consulting’s page was ranking on the first page of Google using ten keywords; a challenge when working on a new website with low domain authority. Finally, we established Horizon Project’s social media presence and continue to manage and maintain the website today.

Results & Feedback

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I know I can rely on Slidesigma. At various times, I have tried to create presentations on my own, but I always run into a time issue. I’m often calling them three days before a major presentation and asking them to jump in, and they are great. They’re always ready to help, so it provides me with great comfort knowing that they are always available. I can’t tell you just how simple, clear, and easy their presentation materials are for people to follow and understand.

How did Slidesigma perform from a project management standpoint?

On a scale of one to ten, they are always a 10 in terms of project management. If they need to work throughout the night to get a presentation done, they will do so.

What did you find most impressive about Slidesigma?

I would say two things: reliability and quality. They always deliver on time. I’ve worked with other companies before doing the same thing and the quality was not always there.

Are there any areas Slidesigma could improve?

No, not that I can see. They have done everything that I’ve wanted, and they’ve always come through for me.
